Lisa Bonet to Lilakoi Moon
By Nick CarboneFriday, Sept. 16, 2011
The young star of 1980s sitcoms The Cosby Show and A Different World proved that she was truly from another planet when she changed her name to the hardly pronounceable Lilakoi Moon in the early '90s. Citing a desire for privacy, the actress formerly known as Lisa Bonet (and born as Lisa Boney) adopted the foreign-sounding moniker. Confusingly, she continued to be credited as Lisa Bonet in subsequent acting roles, but her penchant for crazy names was unstoppable. When she had her third child, a son born in 2009 with Hawaiian-born actor Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), the stormy night had quite an influence on her name choice. The baby was named Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa, which literally means (among other things) "stormy warrior." No word if Nakoa-Wolf will try to change his name in the future though we wouldn't be surprised.
