Mom jeans aren’t going anywhere, and a lot of you have asked me what shoes to wear with mom jeans. Here’s a breakdown of different styles of shoes to try!
Mom jeans came onto the scene a few years ago, and I don’t think they’re going anywhere. Mom jeans are typically straight-leg, high waisted jeans, and often a light or mid wash color. The ones I’m wearing in this post are RIGHT HERE, and I’m wearing a size 25 (I always size down in Madewell jeans – I’m normally a 26 in jeans).
A big outfit struggle a lot of you shared with me was what shoes to wear with mom jeans. Here’s a breakdown of what shoes work well with mom jeans!

Sneakers are great choice to wear with mom jeans! Choose ones that are low cut and slim to help elongate your leg line and show some ankle.

Shoes with mom jeans: ankle boots
Yep, you can absolutely wear ankle boots with your mom jeans! You can do any color, but a neutral tan works really well. Whichever color you choose, make sure the shaft of the boot is narrow and slim so it doesn’t give you a bulky ankle look, and choose one with an elongated toe (doesn’t have to be pointy!) to elongate your leg line.

Shoes with Mom Jeans: Loafers
I love my loafer mules – they’re a super versatile pair of shoes that you can wear for work, everyday, church, date night, or anything. You can choose a pair of loafers that aren’t slip-on, but mom jeans and straight leg jeans absolutely work with any style of loafers.

Of course, flat sandals work with everything! They’re a great choice with mom jeans or straight leg jeans during the spring and summer when it’s hot. Just skip the flip flops and choose a pair of sandals that are a little nicer.

You can absolutely dress up your mom and straight leg jeans! Just throw on a blouse and some block heel sandals for a chic and semi-dressed up feel.
