I'm just reading for nostalgia a lot this summer. Quick, fun reads like these books help get me out of slumps!!

My special needs teen age son, 2 year old granddaughter and myself usually loves Arthur books. However, this chapter book just wasn't doing it for us! It could have been so much better had it been a normal book not a chapter book. Mr Brown just drew out the story and repeated (which to a reader is good because of the repetitive words but makes for a boring book) We enjoyed this due to the familiar characters we've come to enjoy but a very simple storyline was drug out to much for us. I nearly 'lost' my son as I was reading to him, and he was 'done' when we finished.

This was a cute book that would be good for a first chapter book for a student, so probably a high 1st grade student or a second grade student. I think students would be interested in reading this book because it is based off the popular TV show "Arthur".

I like Arthur books.
