Especially after recent years in the light of the pandemic, the need for hand protection is an important consideration in sectors such as industrial, cleaning, automotive, food preparation, security and beauty, to name but a few. Safety gloves are an important tool not only protecting workers from getting into contact with harmful substances but also protecting the products they are working with from potential contamination. To some extent, gloves also make the working environment more comfortable for workers and the people around them. This is where the colour of the gloves is particularly useful.

Nowadays, black single-use gloves are gaining more popularity over a wide range of environments where contact with blood, bodily fluids, solvents, chemicals or staining substances such as inks, oils and grease are to be expected. Black single-use gloves offer an added bonus of masking the colour of these substances over lighter coloured gloves making it a more pleasant workplace and experience for the people around, such as customers and clients. Therefore, black gloves are often intentionally chosen for key reasons depending on certain applications and tasks.

Police, security personnel and postal workers wear black gloves to help them recognize dangerous powders and substances immediately. Harmful or suspicious substances are easier spotted while wearing black single-use gloves.

Beauty professionals, such as tattoo artists or hairdressers, prefer black single-use gloves to mask stains and maintain a professional clean appearance for clients. People working in automotive are often exposed to oil and grease, which will be less obvious on black gloves, helping them focus and see more of what they are doing. Also, for those activities where close attention to detail is essential, wearing black gloves makes it easier to distinguish his or her own hand and object from that of the client, allowing them to focus on the area of interest.

Similarly, the food service industry is also joining the bandwagon where black single-use gloves are gaining popularity beyond the realm of barbecue pitmasters and chefs who handle food high in fat content. Initially, black gloves were used because they provided a visible contrast that quickly revels any tear or puncture that may occur during work. But over the recent years, they have been gaining traction among chefs who not only use them for protection but also for style. They are perfect for environments where food is being presented before the customers, covering stains at the same time providing contrast to the food being prepped, plated and served. In the day and age of social media, enthusiasts are often excited to capture images of their dining experiences, be it catching an action of a chef preparing a meal or the server putting finishing touches on a nicely plated meal, and definitely black single-use gloves are part of those gaining the spotlight as well.

Here at Granberg, we have a selection ofblack single-use glovessuitable for a wide variety of applications. Get in touchwith us and we will be happy to help you find the best possible hand protection that fits your needs.

Black gloves as the article states is great for masking/hiding residues, dirt, and grime. I however have a preference with hazardous substances to see where my gloves have been contaminated by contact. I understand it is less visibly pleasing and using black gloves might increase employee use, but as a glove user my preference is knowing where and when I come into contact with a substance....also good to know for quality control purposes too.
