When I was looking into K-beauty and Korean skincare, I often came across the website YesStyle. I also got tonnes of ads from them on my social media. And always I wondered: is this website even legit? Well, now I got the opportunity to order some items from YesStyle and go through the whole ordering process. So I thought this would be a good time to write a YesStyle review, and tell you all my thoughts on this website. Let’s get into it!
The YesStyle website
My initial thoughts when entering the website was that it looked a tiny bit shady. Everywhere are banners that talk about sales, and all the products are often reduced by A LOT. Some items have a perpetual 80% sale going. I’m pretty sure this is just a sales tactic, but it is what makes the site look a bit questionable. And this is exactly why I was excited to order some products and write this YesStyle review. To see if it was actually this shady or not.
Let’s talk a bit about the look of the website and how it functions. I think it does look clean and gives a nice vibe, but finding certain items can be a bit overwhelming. You can filter for a lot of different categories, but the categories are still very much filled to the brim. Products sometimes have weird names, and not always clear pictures. It’s a bit tough to navigate, but if you know what you’re looking for it’s not that bad. It’s a bit more annoying if you’re just browsing. The best thing for me was that you could filter for cruelty-free and vegan beauty products! I really like that they added this feature, since a lot of other websites don’t have this option.
Information on the products
The product pages most often feature a lot of different pictures and descriptions, all in English. To me, most of it is very clear. The only thing that is often not very clear to me is the sizing of the clothing items. Lots of the items are one size, but don’t really specify what size that is. Others do have different sizes with actual measurements. It’s a bit of both, but I must say that the sizing is not very inclusive overall. If there are different sizes at all, it’s often just small, medium, and large.
The ordering process
I think finding the right items is a tougher job than ordering them. Ordering actually went quite quickly, and YesStyle even has free shipping to Europe on orders above €50. Nice! So nothing crazy going on. The only thing that you should consider is that there is a possibility of having to pay duties. I did not experience this issue with my orders yet, so that is good. But if you do have to pay duties, YesStyle offers duty refunds up to a certain amount. So that’s also a great extra!
After paying, the package gets shipped out as soon as possible. This can sometimes take a while, since not all products come from the same warehouse. My first order took about three weeks until it shipped, and the second order about 5 days. After shipping it also takes a little while until you get some updates on your tracking, but you can see a decent amount of info from then on. Shipping to the Netherlands from Korea took both of my packages almost two weeks. I think that’s a decent time period, but it’s something you should keep in mind when ordering. It can take quite a while until you can hold the products in your hands.
The packages
After the long shipping period, both packages came in decent condition. The boxes are filled with extra packing material, so my beauty products weren’t damaged when they arrived. There is a tiny bit of a shady thing to this as well, however. To pass customs, the package has to note what the contents are and how much they cost. On my 50€ beauty product haul, they put that it contained a 15€ scarf. This way it did pass through customs without me having to pay any, but it of course is a bit of a shady practice. I’m not mad about it though. As long as I get my packages and I don’t have to pay extra, it’s all good!
My YesStyle review
I’m not going to talk about the products I got in this article, since I’m writing separate, in depth reviews about those later. However, I do want to give a conclusion on the ordering process. YesStyle has a few shady seeming parts to it, just like when ordering on AliExpress, but it is a legit seller of a lot of Korean beauty brands. It’s an easy way to get your hands on some affordable Korean products, which always makes me happy. The shipping took a little while, but that is to be expected if it’s coming from the other side of the world.
In general, the ordering process was quite easy after I had figured out what I wanted to buy from the millions of products on the website. The packages came in one piece and the products were not damaged or low quality. It may seem a tiny bit shady to order from YesStyle, but I really enjoyed the products that I got and I’m not at all mad at how things are handled. I would definitely recommend YesStyle, if you’re looking to buy some Korean beauty products or clothes! I want to thank you for reading my YesStyle review, and I’ll see you next time!
