She is the daughter of Michonne Hawthorne who went missing during the outbreak of the apocalypse when Michonne's ex-husband took her and her sister to safety. After the deaths of her father and sister, she traveled to Ohio and became a resident of the Commonwealth.
Shortly afterward, we learned Rick and Michonne had a child together, Rick Jr. For the past several years, Michonne carried on raising R.J. and Judith with the help of her community until she discovered clues to believe Rick may still be alive.
In the six years following his disappearance, it is revealed that Michonne has assumed leadership over the Alexandria community and was pregnant at the time of Rick's supposed demise; she is now a parent to Rick's daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming), as well as their own child together, Rick Jr. (RJ) Grimes.
Michonne fell pregnant earlier this season after a romantic scene in 903, 'Warning Signs,' where lover Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) suggested "another way to build for the future."
Andre Anthony, also known as Peanut to his mother, is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is Michonne Grimes's son and the older half-brother of R.J. Grimes.
And for Michonne, Carl has become an adopted son—a very special role, since as she first confided in Carl alone, she lost her son Andre early in the apocalypse.
Rick Grimes Jr., nicknamed R.J., is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is the son of Rick and Michonne Grimes, the half-brother of the late Carl Grimes and Andre Anthony, and the adoptive brother of Judith Grimes.
Does Glenn meet his son?
The same story was done all over again in Season 7 when father-to-be Glenn was killed by Negan before he ever got to meet his future son, who wound up wearing his father's hat and having his late grandfather's name.
In "A New Beginning," 18 months after the war with the Saviors, Maggie has won an election demanded by Gregory to determine who the leader of Hilltop will be. She has also given birth to Glenn's child, a boy whom she names Hershel in honor of her father.
Yes, actress Danai Gurira has left the show, but Michonne's presence is still felt, as it's been made clear that she's off searching for her lost love Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the hopes that he's still alive.

Judith is the daughter of Lori Grimes and possibly Rick Grimes, and the younger sister of Carl Grimes. Judith's biological father could be either Rick or Shane, but Rick told Lori that he did not care if she was Shane's daughter because he will still love her as his daughter.
Little Girl Zombie (Season 1, Episode 1: 'Days Gone By') Because you never forget your first. Having just left the hospital, Rick spots a tiny tot wearing an adorable pink nightgown clutching a teddy bear.
Then, during the season five finale, Rick confesses to Michonne that he had been hatching a secret plan without her. He had stolen guns from the armory and was ready to take the leadership reins at Alexandria by force, if necessary. “I was afraid you'd talk me out of it. You could've,” he tells her.
The couple would eventually get married before being split apart by Rick's supposed death. In the final season of the main show, we find out Rick was saved from his explosive death. Michonne also finds evidence of Rick still being alive and decides to go alone on a journey to find him.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 14 below.
The flashbacks in “Scars” take us back to months after Rick's “death,” when a pregnant Michonne welcomes an old friend, Jocelyn, and the children in her care, into Alexandria.
How did Daryl get his face scar?
A child branded both Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) after they were captured on orders by one of Michonne's old friends, Jocelyn (Rutina Wesley). Daryl was branded first before Joceyln ordered a child to brand her old friend, Michonne.
When they return to Alexandria, Rosita joins the community in paying respects at Jesus' funeral. Meanwhile, Rosita is in a relationship with community doctor Siddiq (Avi Nash) and discovers that she is pregnant with his child.
For the first time, Rick admitted he knew that Judith was, in fact, not his child, but was rather fathered by his former best friend and partner Shane (whom Rick then killed… before Carl killed zombie Shane).
Oh, so that's where the blood on Michonne's arm came from. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it explanation: When Michonne is talking to Negan, she quickly wipes something off her arm, just as she did while lying in bed in the previous episode. It's clear now that it's walker blood from her late-night adventures.
While fighting a walker, Michonne accidentally causes its guts to spill onto her, leading to other walkers subsequently ignoring her.
This week we learned that during the six-year time jump Michonne gave birth to her child with Rick (named Rick Jr, or RJ). “When (showrunner) Angela (Kang) told me, firstly I was stunned,” Michonne actress Danai Gurira revealed during a Talking Dead segment (which you can see below).
Meanwhile, Rosita is in a relationship with community doctor Siddiq (Avi Nash) and discovers that she is pregnant with his child.
The Walking Dead revealed the father of Rosita's baby in the latest episodes of the show. It was a mystery that didn't last for very long, even though she still seems to have three important men in her life. The father of the baby is Siddiq (Avi Nash), who has become an important character on the show.
One of the biggest deviations from the comic is how Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) takes over Michonne's storyline.
The two will find their way back together in the as-of-yet untitled Rick and Michonne spinoff that premieres later this year. Are you glad that Rick Grimes returns in The Walking Dead season 11? Let us know in the comments below!
Does Rick and Michonne come back in season 11 of The Walking Dead?
The series finale took a dramatic turn in its final few minutes, looking both ahead and back as viewers saw the return of Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira's Michonne — who will be returning for a 2023 spin-off series on AMC.
Michonne's diagnosis:
PTSD is a mental health disorder that can occur after someone has experienced a traumatic event, or learns about someone close to him or her who experienced a traumatic event.
Michonne and Heath carry Scott away from the town and across a creek in the woods, where Heath takes a long look at his reflection in the water, and Michonne sees her hopeful note written in ink on her arm - "You're getting home" - smeared away.
Michonne appeared to have an aversion to babies, as she vehemently refused to hold Rick's daughter Judith until Beth Greene forced her to, and, while looking at Judith, shed tears, before hugging Judith close. Michonne later establishes that this is a manifestation of the guilt she feels for losing her own son, Andre.
Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Andrew Chambliss explained Morgan was immune in The Walking Dead because of luck. Since his introduction in the first episode of The Walking Dead, Lennie James' Morgan has had quite the journey.
Maggie was extremely angry about Rick and Michonne's unilateral decision to keep Negan alive, which led to the pair confronting each other when Maggie went in to kill Negan. And, Michonne was interested in helping other communities and people while Maggie's primary concern was for the Hilltop's safety.
Andre Anthony, also known as Peanut to his mother, is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is Michonne Grimes's son and the older half-brother of R.J. Grimes.
