What can you not wear in Europe in 2022?
How NOT to Look Like A Tourist While Traveling To Europe This Summer
Some teachers argue that wearing hoods could potentially be a safety hazard. This is because a hood obscures part of a person's face and identity–making it harder to spot an intruder or to identify a student who has done something wrong. It is presumably for this reason that many malls restrict hoods being worn.
LONDON — These days, teenagers need only wear a hooded sweatshirt to send shivers of fear through the heart of middle-class Britain. Young people wearing "hoodies" have become a symbol of low-level vandalism and petty crime.
Europeans dress up more than Americans, especially for meals and special occasions. With that being said, don't show up at dinner wearing sweatpants, shorts, or a T-shirt, and especially not pajama bottoms. They are NOT fashionable in Europe. Another tip: Don't wear workout clothes!
Clean lines and classic looks. Europeans tend to dress up a bit more than Americans and they prefer a sleeker and more fitted look. Shorts, oversize styles and athletic wear like sweatpants and T-shirts are not acceptable to wear out in public. Think tailored, classic, and neutral and you can't go wrong.
Jeans are a staple of any European wardrobe. Most women I saw wore skinny or slim jeans. In general, they mostly wore dark jeans without a wash or with a minimal wash (i.e., only a small amount of distressing). Grey jeans are also a popular choice.
Though the handbook does not expressly restrict hoods, it does note a rule against “hats, caps or other outdoor apparel worn during the school day.” Hooded sweatshirts, though, have become a common and popular clothing item intended for indoor wear.
Wearing it can make you look very cool, just like one of those people who are following closely the latest streetwear fashion trends. That's why the world's most popular clothing retailers went big on hoodies lately.

Why are schools banning hoodies?
Clothing with hoods, dresses, skirts and skorts, now all banned for students in fifth grade and higher at a Texas school district.
The reasoning behind banning outerwear such as hoodies in school is safety, surrounding schools believe that students could hide weapons in the large pockets on most hoodies. Also when the hood is up on the jacket it makes it harder to see the individuals face and if they are wearing headphones during class.
It's fine, though it will make you more even more readily identifiable as a non-local than you already are so just make sure you have your wits about you while walking about. As much as I love yoga pants, I like to at least somewhat look the part of a local so I usually wear jeans and flats.
European fashions are most easily recognized by their clean, simple lines. The cut of almost all pieces of clothing, from suits to dresses, have a sleek, geometric appearance. You should look for clothes that are similarly simple in shape, with clean, elegant lines.
Nix the dirty denim, sports t-shirts and shabby shoes, especially if you're visiting style-conscious cities like Madrid and Barcelona. It's all in the fit. Baggy shirts and shorts just won't cut it in Spain.
