Why do my Ray-Bans say Made in China?
Luxottica, the world's largest eyewear company, OWNS Ray-Ban (along with many other well-known brands). They have chosen to use China as a manufacturing location along with Italy.
Original Ray-Ban sunglasses will have "RB" or “Ray Ban etched onto the corner of the left lens to prove its authenticity. If the etching is missing, or a low quality or painted on the glasses will be fake. Other signs to spot a fake pair of Ray-Bans include the packaging and way in which they are boxed to ship.
On the inside right temple you should see the Ray-Ban logo, where it's made (authentic Ray-Bans can be manufactured either in China or Italy, so don't panic if it says “Made in China”), a single letter referring to the type of frame, a CE, and “Polarized” if your sunglasses are polarized.

This label should contain important identifying information for your glasses — if it doesn't, they're probably fake. Official Ray-Ban boxes should be labeled with the following: Model number: Starts with "RB" or "0RB", followed by four numbers.
Ray-Ban alphanumeric serial numbers are always etched out of sight on the inside of the left-side arm and will ever be printed on the box in which they are packed.

Approximately 95 percent of eyeglass frames are made outside of America with more than 90 percent produced in China, the land of inexpensive labor.
All new Ray-Bans have a "RB" etched onto one lens (check the far left side of the left lens). On fakes the etching will either be missing or of poor quality. The "RB" etching should be crisp and etched, not painted on.
However, Luxottica, Ray-Ban manufacturer, has its factories both in China and Italy. Although the majority of production is based in Italy, a few models are still manufactured in China exclusively, or in both Italian and Chinese factories. There is, however, no doubts that quality standards remain the same.

The Ray-Ban logo will be etched on the top left of the glasses. If it can be scratched off, the frames aren't genuine. 'RB' will also be etched on the bottom right of the frames next to the hinge. Frames produced prior to 2000 will have the Bausch & Lomb logo, 'B&L' etched there.
The lenses: The right-side lens should have the distinctive, cursive-lettered Ray-Ban logo near the top right corner. Inspect the lettering under a magnifying glass: It should be crisp and clean. Fakes are often messy and jagged. The left-side lens should have the letters RB etched into it — not painted or glued on.
