With winter comes some chilly temperatures, that cold breeze, and the chance to escape. Las Vegas inter weather may be different than you imagine. Does Vegas have Winter? It certainly does. In fact, it is one of the best times of the year to visit.
After summer is done and gone, start thinking about what new things you want to explore once the colder months hit. Let me share with you what to know about your visit to Las Vegas this winter.
Las Vegas Winter Weather
Winter weather in Las Vegas is a bit of a paradox. Although there is often frost on the ground in the morning, the temperature usually rises above freezing by the afternoon. This makes for some fascinating weather conditions; it can be sunny and warm one minute, and then a cold wind can come up and make it feel like winter the next.
During the winter months, Las Vegas weather tends to bring temperatures that may drop into the 30s F at night but manage to hover around the 60s F during the day. It will vary a bit between months, but this can be expected during most of the winter.
Here are the average high and low winter temperatures for Las Vegas from NOAA:

What to Pack for a Winter Vacation in Las Vegas
The weather will typically stay warm enough to make this a comfortable trip, and if you like swimming, there are plenty of pools in Las Vegas that are open year-round, so make sure to pack your bathing suit (or Speedo).
How the weather feels to you will depend on where you are coming from. In Chicago, you can experience real winter weather, but in Vegas, it’s a great way to spend a week away from the snow and frigid winds.
If you typically live in a warmer climate, you should be ready with a jacket or a winter coat if you get cold quickly here in Vegas. Also, make sure to pack light sweaters and jeans or long pants.
But even if you are used to cold temperatures, you should pack a jacket for the cold night air of Las Vegas in Winter. I can attest to this. I have gotten chilly walking the Strip at night.

How to Deal with the Cold Weather in Las Vegas
The cold weather in Las Vegas is nothing to be afraid of. With the right clothes and the knowledge of what to expect, it can be the best time of year to visit Sin City. Those winter nights will seem like a blessing compared to the summer heat.
If the freezing weather was ever a deterrent for you, keep this in mind. You can get from Mandalay Bay to Park MGM while only being outside for about five minutes.
Many of the Las Vegas hotels and casinos are connected by walkways or by shopping areas. ( i.e., Paris and Bally’s) making exposure to the “cold” air minimal and maximizing your time indoors. Don’t let these cool winters keep you from planning a visit to Las Vegas.
