Where is the quest If I Had a Glamour? ›

Beginning at level 15, you can complete Swyrgeim's two quests in Western Thanalan (X:12.6, Y:14.3, aka Vesper Bay) that unlock both aspects of the Glamour system: “If I Had a Glamour” (for applying Glamour and using Glamour Plates) and “Absolutely Glamourous” (for crafting Glamour Prisms and Glamour Dispellers).

To unlock the ability to glamour, you need to be at least level 15 and be far enough in the main scenario quests to access Western Thanalan. In Vesper Bay, you'll find a female NPC with an eccentrically colored outfit named Swyrgeim, who will give you the quest “If I Had a Glamour.”

This quest is initated by talking to Swyrgiem in Vesper Bay, the small encampment west of Horizon in the West Thanalan. For this quest your will be tasked with getting some orange juice. The orange juice can be bought from Katherine <<Potwatch>>(13x,9y) in the market area of 'The steps of Thal'.

If you wish to remove an item from the glamour plate, right-click the icon and select "Remove Item Image from Plate." If you wish to remove an item from the glamour plate, press X (□ on PS5™/PS4™, X on Xbox Series X|S) the icon and select "Remove Item Image from Plate."

In patch 6.1, you'll now have 20 glamour plates to play with, up from 15. That's just enough to cover all of FFXIV's combat classes, though fashion-conscious players aren't going to be satisfied until there are enough plates for the crafters and gatherers, too.

Glamour plates can be used to cast glamour in any major city, free of cost (after the initial storage in the armory chest). You can't glamour items you can't equip.

For example, to turn a Garuda into an Emerald Carbuncle, the player will type out: /egiglamour "Garuda-Egi" "Emerald Carbuncle". Once this is done, the next time the Egi is summoned, it will be whatever the glamour chosen is. This is entirely visual, as the carbuncle will behave and deal out attacks like the Egi.

Glamour prisms are available on the market board, from Grand Company quartermasters, from vendors, as quest rewards, or when made by crafters who have learned the crafting recipe.

Glamour is a Faerie magic that work as an illusion-made so real that reality itself is fooled. Glamour can be used innately by the Fae and their relatives, or by humans who have taken or been given it.
