I’m lovin’ doing Flashback Friday posts where I repost something I’ve written from years back because its forcing me to read past posts which bring back so many great memories- like the day a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes changed my life and inspired me to build my amazing closet, which I will show pics of at the end of this post..ladies, prepare to fall in love…

“The Voices Told Me To Buy More Shoes” –(repost from October 2012):

At least that is what I tell my husband! I blame my obsession with shoes on Cinderella frankly. After all it was the shoes that changed her life. Plus there is something SO HAPPY about buying a brand new pair of shoes :)! The burst of joy that buying a new pair of shoes causes is a phenomenon that is hard to put into words, but it is REAL! At least for women it is…I can’t really speak for men because I don’t really know what it does for them…but for women, ah yes, for women the purchasing of a new pair of shoes can literally change our lives! And science have proven it:

According to studies that have been done, when a woman buys a new pair of shoes “The neurotransmitter dopamine is released, providing a feel-good high, similar to taking a drug,” says Martin Lindstrom. And apparently it is not just an increase of dopamine at work: “Shoes are a collector’s item, whether women realize they perceive them that way or not,” says Suzanne Ferriss, PhD (editor of Footnotes: On Shoes). Just think of how they’re often stored artfully on shoe trees and shelves. “They’re like sculptures,” says Ferriss. As a result, collecting each type provides a mini-adrenaline rush similar to the satisfaction a stamp collector gets when he acquires a rare find.”

Hah! Our shoe obsession is NOT OUR FAULT! It is a chemical problem in our brains with dopamine and adrenaline! VINDICATION!!

So for the men reading this, I am about to give you two tips that could very well save your relationships and get you huge brownie points with your woman:

Tip #1: If ever you are in trouble, which you know you frequently are because, let’s face it – you are men – buy your woman a new pair of shoes! Or, even easier, give her a gift certificate to order her own shoes from her favorite designer or online atwww.zappos.com! Nothing will get you out of trouble faster than a new pair of shoes…well, except maybe diamonds…but shoes are much cheaper 🙂 .

Tip #2: Recognize that whatever shoes a woman puts on for the day will tell you everything about the mood she is in – almost like those mood rings that change colors – her shoes for the day will indicate if she is in a “feeling casual” mood, an “I am woman hear me roar” mood, an “I don’t care” mood, or an “I feel sexy” mood (and for the record, stilettos are more of an attitude than a shoe so always notice when she is wearing stilettos…). Yes, every shoe a woman wears reflects something about how she is feeling that day.

You men that paid attention to those tips will thank me for them one day.

So I need to admit that I got a little crazy on my recent trip to Vegas when I came across a pair of the most gorgeous, sexiest, most sparkly shoes that I have ever seen! They were like sparkly Diamonds and Shoes IN ONE!!! Of coursemy dopamine and adrenaline levels went off the charts – it was a chemical reaction that made me buy them – it wasn’t my fault!!! Just look at the picture of my amazing new shoes covered in Swarovski crystals and you will understand–

Frankly, the photo doesn’t do them justice – they are AMAZING! I can’t wait to have an event to wear them to! In the meantime I am going to make my husband build me a display case for these shoes because as we just learned from the research I shared, these shoes are like a sculpture – like a fine piece of art – they must be displayed! Plus, they totally make me feel like Cinderella 🙂

(end of the 2012 post…now read on to see the closet these shoes inspired)…Ahhh yes….that one pair of shoes led to the purchasing of several other fabulous shoes over years and inspired the building of my fabulous closet:

I’m a shoe shoe lady also Amy, but don’t quite rank up in your alley. It is so fun to buy a new pair of shoes though. That I agree

This makes me giggle because I don’t care about shoes at all, but my husband could definitely build a closet to house his collection. LOL Nice job on the details about shoe obsessions. I hope by now you have had plenty of joyous opportunities to wear those Cinderella shoes.

What a coincidence? I just got back from shoe shopping. I bought myself two pairs of boots. I am so super pumped about the shoes and this article is so on point about the feelings and attitudes women get from the various types of shoes. I will forward this article to my hubby perhaps I could get a shoe closet out of it. Great read!!!
