How does UPS on-call pickup work? ›

UPS On-Call Pickup gives you the convenience of having your shipment picked up at your home or office by scheduling your pickup online at ups.com or by calling UPS directly. Schedule a same-day pickup or a pickup in advance for the next business day or later in the week.

Collection Options

UPS 3 Attempts Returns Plus: UPS will attempt to collect your shipment for three consecutive business days. After the third attempt, the return label will be returned to UPS.

Will call refers to a method of delivery for purchased items where the customer picks up the items at the seller's place of business, primarily in North American commerce. It may also refer to the department within a business where goods are staged for customer pick up.

To receive your shipment on the first delivery attempt, track the shipment and leave a note for the driver on the scheduled delivery day. The note can instruct the driver to either leave the shipment, or, if a signature is required, deliver it to a nearby neighbour who is home during the day.

If you've missed your pickup time, a driver will come back one time per day and pick up your air or international package at no extra fee* by calling 1-800-PICK-UPS. *Pickup must occur at your usual pickup location.

UPS may make up to three delivery attempts at its discretion at your address on regular UPS delivery days. After the final attempt, undeliverable packages will be returned to the sender. To prevent your package from being returned or to make alternate delivery arrangements, track your package.

We are unable to provide two delivery attempts on the same day. Your driver may make a second attempt on the next business day and a third attempt on the following business day, if necessary. Where available, your shipment may be taken to your nearest UPS Access Point location™ for collection.

Shipments that do not require a signature can be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver's discretion. This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, garage area, or with a neighbor or leasing office (which would be noted in a yellow UPS InfoNotice^® left by the driver).

You can request we hold onto your package for you to pick up at a UPS location.

How To Request a UPS Delivery Intercept. You can request an intercept from the tracking detail page when tracking your package or you can follow the steps below to request one from your shipping history. Please note: you must request an intercept prior to the first delivery attempt.

Is Saturday considered a business day for UPS pickup? ›

Saturday Pickups From Your Business

UPS is the only major carrier offering Saturday pickups, so you can reach customers sooner.

According to Merriam-Webster, it originates simply from the notion “(the purchaser) will call” – i.e. as a verb phrase.

You also should know that UPS may contact you from time to time regarding service offerings or for marketing purposes, but you may always verify our phone number and call back before proceeding.

Can you hold my packages while I'm away? Yes, if you're a UPS My Choice member, The UPS Store and other UPS Access Point locations can hold your package for up to seven calendar days at no additional charge. Customer centers can hold your package for up to five business days.

The UPS My Choice^® Authorized Shipment Release feature enables you to give authorization online for UPS to deliver packages without a signature for drop-off when you're not going to be home to sign in person.

The only way to meet up with a UPS driver to get your package…is go down to the depot where they dispatch their drivers for delivery. You would have to (After you know your package has made it to the local UPS Sortation facility) contact UPS directly and ask for counter p/u of your item.

To check the status of your UPS On-Call Pickup^SM, use the Shipping History or Pickup Request Number printed on your receipt. Select Shipping History from the Shipping menu on the ups.com homepage. Then select the radio button next to your shipment and select Show Detail/Receipt.

You can call to schedule a driver pickup on the same day or a future day, with no limit on the number of packages. The fee is $6.80 per same-day request, or $5.80 for a future-day pickup. UPS Smart Pickup®.

UPS handles delivery from supplier to elected UPS Access Point. Provide proof of identity to collect your parcel. Notification sent and your parcel awaits to be collected at a time convenient to you. If necessary to return an item, you may drop a labelled pre-paid UPS Return parcel into any UPS Access Point.

Will USPS pick up a package with prepaid label? ›

Returns. USPS Returns^®, Parcel Return Service, and Business Reply Mail^® Parcels, are either a pre-printed, pre-paid label that came with your shipment or an electronic version you printed from the merchant's website. These services qualify for free pickup.
