What is the best Evoker leveling spec Dragonflight? ›

Devastation is the Evoker spec to play for leveling, and it is very strong for questing.

Single-Target Dragonrage Devastation Evoker Rotation

Cast Fire Breath at empower level 1. Cast Shattering Star. Spend all of your Essence on Disintegrate. Use Living Flame as your filler ability, as it will deal extra damage with the Iridescence buff.

Evoker has a fairly easy rotation to pick up. It revolves around using all three of our short cooldowns: Fire Breath, Eternity Surge and Shattering Star as they come up. Disintegrate is used to reduce their cooldowns and spend resources.

Augmentation is definitely a viable Evoker spec to play for leveling, and it is reasonably effective in solo play, while being highly mobile and survivable.

Stat Priorities

In general, you'll be going for the highest item level, as your intellect also increases your party's/raid's damage due to Ebon Might. Mastery is by far our best secondary stat. Even around 8k+ mastery where diminishing returns apply, mastery outperforms all other secondary stats.

Best Stats for Augmentation Evoker

As a rough guideline follow the stat priority of: Mastery >> Critical Strike > Haste >> Versatility.

Devastation Evoker Viability In Mythic+

Devastation Evoker has incredible uncapped burst AoE and strong boss damage. It also brings many stops with Deep Breath+ Terror of the Skies, Tail Swipe, and Wing Buffet. All of these spells can have their cooldowns cut in half with talents.

The Devastation Specialization is the best spec for evoker leveling.

Frost Mage is generally the most straightforward Mage spec to level with due to its lack of reliance on cooldowns to deal damage and exceptionally strong area of effect damage.

For Leveling, the best choice is a Ferocity pet. They can heal themselves upon inflicting damage. Ferocity pets also can grant Primal Rage for your party, which is an analog to Bloodlust effect.

Fury and Arms are both solid in solo content and can deal out a lot of damage with their various abilities. They both also have plenty of sustain to get through their enemies without having to slow down.
