What happens to Grace Stone in Manifest? ›

But, Manifest made a decision that undermines that goal and much of the story we've watched unfold since the show premiered in 2018: At the end of Season 3, Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis) died, after one of the passengers stabbed her and kidnapped Ben and Grace's toddler.

Although Grace died, fans still hoped Athena wasn't leaving the show. Unfortunately, that was Manifest creator Jeff Rake's plan all along. The writer shared with Variety that Grace's death meant Athena had to exit the show as a full-time cast member.

The outlet also reported that actress Athena Karkanis (who plays Grace Stone) will not come back after her character died in the season 3 finale Jack Messina (a.k.a. Cal) will also not return to the series.

At the conclusion of Season 3, Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis) died after being stabbed by another passenger, Angelina Meyer (Holly Taylor), who also abducted Eden, her daughter.

How did Cal return older? Cal Stone was one of the passengers on Flight 828, but when he touched the tailfin of the plane, he disappeared and reappeared as an older version of himself, likely because of the way that time and space works in the divine consciousness.

His wife has been murdered, his daughter has been kidnapped, his son is now the age that he should be but older than what he was, and Ben harbors blame for Cal for Grace's death, which is complicated. He has denounced everything, including his loved ones around him, and the callings.

Flight 828 only landed in New York five and a half years later, which meant everyone assumed that the passengers had died. When Michaela and Jared finally reunite, she learns that he has married her best friend, Lourdes. Michaela is in stasis because to her no time has passed.

She is eventually pressured by Olive into telling Ben the truth. She eventually breaks up with Danny and reconciles with Ben. After she and her husband finally steady their lives together, Grace discovers she is pregnant but isn't confident in the baby's paternity and hides her pregnancy from Danny.

Michaela admits that her feelings for Jared have resurfaced. However, she assures Zeke that she loves him and she chooses him every day. The feelings will pass and she has no desire or intention of acting on them. She's married to Zeke and she takes their vow, their partnership, and their future seriously.

In the end, despite the pull of bad influences in his life, he chooses goodness and righteousness as his path and is ultimately redeemed. His actions and choices then serve as an example to others, helping them to make better decisions.

At some point after the flight went missing, Olive began dating Cal's friend, Kevin. Not much is known about their relationship, although Grace tells Ben when they return that Kevin had been really good for Olive. They seem to be happy together until Kevin's last appearance in Point of No Return.

He later explains that he was demoted as a detective over a year ago. The answer for why Jared got demoted is only uncovered in the sixth episode, which is titled “Relative Bearing”. In this episode, it is revealed during a flashback sequence that Jared was demoted because he punched a detective who was harassing Sam.

Saanvi tells him about her successful gene mutation removal and that the callings have stopped for her. She resolves to help him, and hopefully avoid his death date. Before she is able to administer the cure to Zeke, he notices that it has caused her to lose her memory, and act irrationally and out of character.
