Learn what it means to have pendulous breasts and find the perfect bras to support them.
The key to finding a bra that fits perfectly is not just knowing your size, but also understanding your breast shape. Lucky you! We’ve created a handy Breast Shape Guide to help you. For today’s lesson, we’re focusing on the pendulous breast shape.
Do I have Pendulous Breasts?
Pendulous breasts typically have softer tissue, a longer shape and more weight closer to the nipple. They can be pendulous for a number of reasons, but most commonly, this is because of weight gain or loss, aging, gravity, or just good old-fashioned genetics. Also know that breasts tend to sag at one point or another over time, but that does not necessarily categorize them as pendulous. And yes, all breast shapes are still beautiful.
How do I select the right bra?
For women with pendulous breasts, the goal is to create volume by lifting the breasts up and back into place. This will create a slimmer silhouette (always a win!). We recommend full coverage bra styles as a great option because they provide containment for ultimate comfort. Another key detail to look for when shopping for a bra is to look for one with a wide center gore, which will help contain your breast tissue. Below, we share five Wacoal bra styles that are best for this shape.

If breast is pendulous, measure across the fullest part of the breast (not necessarily the nipple). If measuring pendulous breasts without help, consider taking two measurements - one standing and one leaning over - then averaging the two.
If your bra stands away from you, or your breasts slip out the bottom of the cups when you lift your arms above your head, this is another clear sign that you are not wearing the correct size bra. If this happens, it means that the underband is too loose against your ribcage.
T-Shirt Bra – A seamless bra construction can play a major role in ensuring no visible bra lines through your clothes. So, T-shirt Bras are a preferred choice to avoid unwanted show-through. Designed with molded cups, it gives you a clean and neat finish.
