How do I stop Microsoft Teams from muting? ›

You can do this by clicking on the meeting link and selecting "Meeting options" at the bottom of the pre-meeting screen. From there, you can check the settings for "Allow attendees to unmute" and "Mute all attendees" to make sure they are set to your preference. Another thing to check is your device settings.

When you join a meeting with 5 or more attendees already in the meeting, you will join muted by default. This is done to protect meetings from having background noise when they have already started.
